Wilmington, North Carolina
Remember it is possible that ingredient changes and/or substitutions may occur due to the differences in regional suppliers, recipe revisions, prep techniques and even new chefs/employees. It is important that you not only call ahead to make sure they can handle your allergies but also consult with the restaurant manager prior to placing an order to ensure that you have the most accurate and current information. Also remember to ask about cross contamination, shared fryers & works spaces etc., as many restaurants that have gluten-free/allergy dining guides do not have an exclusive gluten-free station and will not guarantee that there will be no cross contamination. Check, double check and check again. Don't worry about being a pain in the restaurant's butt, it's better to be safe than sorry. Trust me, I've learned the hard way.
